Why me

Former COO of Tabs. I built its creator program to 100M monthly social impressions, and the paid ad engine alongside it. The numbers below come from videos that program produced.

At Tabs I built the creator program and the paid ad engine next to it, and I would run the same playbook here: a small roster, one variable per test, losers killed early. The category is different. I have not run prebiotic soda before, so the claims sheet and the OLIPOP lead's calls come first.

Why now

  • 67,000

    Stores already carry OLIPOP

OLIPOP says it is in over 67,000 stores nationwide, so a creator video can end at a shelf, not only at a checkout.

    Published
  • 16

    Sixteen flavors, sixteen hooks

2-5g sugar, 16 delicious flavors: each can gives a creator a new first line without changing the product or the claims sheet.

    Published
  • 15%

A real first-order offer is live

OLIPOP offers 15% off your first order, and subscribers get 15% off every order. A creator can point to an offer that exists.

    Published

Part 4 of 15

Principles

  1. One number to protect

Cost per 1,000 views, target $1. Today the simulator prints $5.74, so every test is aimed at closing that gap before any budget grows.

  2. One variable per test

Same can, same claims sheet, one change: the hook, the first shot or the flavor. Losers killed early, so ten creators never repeat one mistake.

  3. Pay for volume, cap the downside

Seven videos per creator per week, paid inside a band with a cap from $600 to $1,500. The $50 bonus past 100,000 views rewards a hit, not hope.

  4. Claims first, hooks second

Creators say what OLIPOP says about itself: 2-5g of sugar, 6 to 9g of fiber per 12 fl oz can. No health promises, in any video, ever.

#briefs

Briefs, drafts, reviews and the weekly numbers

Illustrative
  1. Brief botAppMon 8:30 AM

This week's brief: Cherry Cola, one hook per video, seven videos. Use only the lines on the claims sheet. Drafts go to #drafts by Wednesday.

  2. MaraMon 10:15 AM

Can I say Cherry Cola has 50mg of green tea caffeine?

Yes, that line is on the Cherry Cola page. Say it as written and add nothing about energy.

  3. PriyaWed 2:00 PM

Draft two makes a health promise about Classic Root Beer. Cut it, keep the pour shot, and reshoot the open with the sugar line from the sheet.

Understood. The reshoot goes up Thursday.

  4. TrackerAppFri 11:40 AM

Tomás's Citrus Rush video passed 100,000 views, organic only. The $50 bonus is queued, one per creator for the month.

  5. PriyaFri 4:00 PM

One check before Friday's posts: does every video name a flavor, quote only the claims sheet, and carry the paid-partnership label?

  6. Report botAppMon 9:00 AM

Weekly report posted: views by creator, cost per 1,000 views against the $1 target, which format led, and which losers are marked for cut.

The messages illustrate the working channel, with invented people: briefs go out on Monday, claims questions get an answer the same day, and nothing posts without the check.

Part 5 of 15

Formats

  1. Blind taste, Cherry Cola

    Brief 01

    Blind taste, Cherry Cola

“I tried to guess this soda blind, and I got it wrong.”

Tight on the can and the pour over ice. A friend guesses the flavor on camera; read the Cherry Cola line from the claims sheet.

  2. Root beer nostalgia

    Brief 02

    Root beer nostalgia

“Classic Root Beer, but I checked the sugar on the can.”

Handheld at the kitchen counter. Show the can label, pour, sip, then say the sugar line exactly as the sheet writes it.

  3. Pre-adventure can

    Brief 03

    Pre-adventure can

    “Thrillseekers, this one’s for you.”

Handheld, walking out the door with a Citrus Rush in frame. Say the flavor and the 60mg of green tea caffeine as the page does.

  4. Dessert soda

    Brief 04

    Dessert soda

“It tastes like a strawberry sundae, in a soda.”

Overhead pour, then a close-up first sip. Name Strawberry Vanilla and the 2-5g sugar line, one take, no voiceover cuts.

  5. Cola swap

    Brief 05

    Cola swap

“I swapped my usual cola for this one for a week.”

Selfie at the fridge, two cans side by side, Vintage Cola poured over ice. Quote only lines from the claims sheet.

Every product line in a video comes off the claims sheet word for word, for example “2-5g sugar. 16 delicious flavors.”, “OLIPOP provides 6 to 9g of fiber per 12 fl oz can.”, “Non-GMO, gluten-free, paleo, and vegan, with high fiber and 2-5g of sugar.”. Product names are said as printed.

Part 6 of 15

Recruiting

Four sources in

  • Soda and flavor-ranking creators

Creators who already review sodas, candy and nostalgic drinks. Cherry Cola, Cream Soda and Classic Root Beer give them a flavor to rank.

  • Snack and fridge-tour creators

Home-kitchen and desk-snack creators whose frame already has a drink in it. A Classic Soda Variety Pack at $35.99 makes a natural unboxing.

  • People posting OLIPOP on their own

Anyone already posting a can of OLIPOP organically, found by search and run through the same five filters as everyone else.

  • Affiliate or ambassador page

I did not find an affiliate or ambassador page on the site, so there is no existing roster to start from. Recruiting begins from scratch, by direct message.

Five filters, fewer each step

  1. 1Flavor first

Names the flavor in the first line and says why it is worth a try, before any claim.

  2. 2Real face, real kitchen

Shoots at home or in daylight, no studio. A can in hand looks like a drink, not an ad.

  3. 3Clean on claims

Past posts make no health promises about food or drink. One that did is out.

  4. 4Seven videos a week

Can turn around seven videos a week without repeating the same shot.

  5. 5Takes a brief

Works one variable per test and reshoots a hook when asked, without a debate.

Part 7 of 15

Who

  • Cola loyalist

Drinks cola daily and will compare a can to the old standby on camera.

    Likely product: Vintage Cola

  • Root beer nostalgic

Posts childhood-food videos and will taste a classic flavor again.

    Likely product: Classic Root Beer

  • Dessert-soda lover

Reviews sweet drinks and likes a creamy flavor with a story behind it.

    Likely product: Strawberry Vanilla

  • Adventure creator

Films outdoor days; a can goes in the bag next to the gear.

    Likely product: Citrus Rush

  • Holiday table host

Sets tables and wraps gifts; a seasonal can fits the shot.

    Likely product: Pomegranate Sparkle

  • Pack-unboxing creator

Opens boxes on camera and lets friends choose a favorite.

Likely product: Classic Soda Variety Pack

Left off, every time

Always out: minors, anyone who has made a health-outcome promise about food or drink, anyone who would compare OLIPOP to a named competitor, and creators who won't use the claims sheet. Prebiotic soda is a food, so no medical language, ever.

Part 9 of 15

Claims sheet

Approved, word for word

Quoted exactly as the brand publishes it.

  • “Healthy Prebiotic Soda”

    On-screen title or closing line

  • “2-5g sugar. 16 delicious flavors.”

Opening line or end card, any flavor

  • “OLIPOP provides 6 to 9g of fiber per 12 fl oz can.”

Voiceover while the can label is in frame

  • “Non-GMO, gluten-free, paleo, and vegan, with high fiber and 2-5g of sugar.”

Caption or voiceover, read in full

  • “Contains at least 80% less sugar than leading, non-diet sodas with 2-5g of sugar per 12 fl oz can compared to 32-46g in leading, non-diet sodas.”

Only with the footnote on screen, no brand named

  • “OLIPOP is grounded in science and crafted with our OLISMART ® blend of prebiotic fibers and botanicals.”

Voiceover, said as OLIPOP's own wording

  • “OLIPOP Citrus Rush packs apple, lemon, lime, and orange juices with 60mg of green tea caffeine”

    Citrus Rush videos only

Never said

Each one with the reason it stays out.

  • Never say OLIPOP fixes digestion

A health outcome. The site gives fiber and sugar figures, not results.

  • Never say it helps you lose weight

A health outcome. No weight claim exists on the sheet.

  • Never say it is better than a named soda brand

A named comparison. The only comparison allowed is the footnoted sugar line.

  • Never say doctors recommend it

An endorsement nobody gave. No expert quote exists on the sheet.

  • Never say studies prove it works

A study figure. Science lines are quoted as OLIPOP wrote them, nothing more.

  • Never say it is zero sugar

Contradicted by OLIPOP's own sugar figure of 2-5g per can.

  • Never say the 9g can needs no fridge

A storage mistake: the two fiber lines are stored differently, per OLIPOP.

To confirm with the brand

Held until someone on the brand side signs off.

  • Footnote wording for the sugar comparison on screen

The OLIPOP lead confirms the exact on-screen footnote before any creator uses that line.

  • Whether creators may mention discount codes

The site shows many codes. I need to know which one, if any, creators may share.

Part 10 of 15

Pay

  • Starter

    $300–600

    a month, by band

Starter: new creators in a first month, with a low base and a cap that limits the downside.

    Bonus at the cap: $300

  • Standard

    $500–1,000

    a month, by band

Standard: creators with steady views, paid more for the same seven videos a week.

    Bonus at the cap: $500

  • Premium

    $800–1,500

    a month, by band

Premium: proven creators who have earned the highest base and the highest cap.

    Bonus at the cap: $700

  1. Under 100,000 views

    $0

The base pay covers the work.

  2. 100,000 views

    +$50 flat

    Whatever the band.

  3. 1,000,000 views

    Top-up to your cap

Bonus = band cap − base pay.

  • One bonus per creator per month, however many videos pass 100,000 views.
  • The $50 is flat and per video: that video must pass 100,000 views.
  • Organic views only; paid boosts and reposted ads do not count.
  • No bonus on a video that broke the claims sheet or the category rule, even past 100,000 views.

Starter: $600 cap − $300 fee = $300 bonus; Standard: $1,000 cap − $500 fee = $500 bonus; Premium: $1,500 cap − $800 fee = $700 bonus.

The bonus pays for reach after the work is done, never instead of it. One bonus per creator per calendar month keeps it an incentive and keeps the program cost predictable.

Today the simulator prints $5.74 per 1,000 views against the $1 target. To close it, 4.2% of videos go viral or the median video reaches 21,711 views, other inputs held.

Above the $1 target at these inputs.

To hit $1, the roster needs about 10.1M views a month. That means about 4.2% of videos going viral, or a median near 22K views per video. That is why the day-90 gate exists: keep the accounts that clear it, replace the rest.

Proposed, not measured. Views = videos × median, breakouts at 10× the median, viral at 750K. Bonus: +$50 for a viral video, one per creator per month.

The math. Videos a month = 10 creators × 7 a week × 52 ÷ 12 = 303. Views per video = (1 − 4% − 0.5%) × 1,500 + 4% × 10 × 1,500 + 0.5% × 750,000 = 5,782.5; 303 videos × 5,782.5 = 1.8M views a month. Cost = 10 × $1,000 = $10,000 base + 1 bonus × $50 = $10,050. Cost per 1,000 views = $10,050 ÷ 1.8M × 1,000 = $5.74 against a $1.00 target. To hit the target, either 4.2% of videos go viral or the median video reaches 21,711 views, other inputs held.

Move the sliders and the label recalculates. The result is only as good as the guesses behind it, so the median views, the share of breakouts and the share of viral videos are marked as Assumptions until the first month of posts replaces them.

Two creators join each week up to ten, across six weeks, seven videos each a week, one variable per test.

  3. Second month

    Kill losers, scale hooks

Cut the weakest hooks and creators early. Move the best Standard creators toward Premium and add winning hooks to the hook library.

  4. Third month

    Take winners to paid

Videos that earn it get tested as ads. The $50 bonus stays organic only, so paid performance is judged separately.

  5. End of third month

    Keep, cut or change

Read cost per 1,000 views against the $1 target. Keep what holds, cut what doesn't, and change bands only with the lead's yes.

  6. Ceiling

The roster grows by two creators a week, so hook performance can be read week over week instead of by anecdote.

Organic to paid

From organic to paid

  1. Organic first

Every video goes out from the creator's own account. Nothing is paid for until it has run.

  2. Pick the winners

Videos that pass 100,000 views, or beat the cost target, go on a shortlist for a second claims check.

  3. Agree usage rights

Before any video runs as an ad, agree the rights with the creator in writing and keep the claims sheet attached.

  4. Test as ads

One variable per test: the same video with a new hook or first shot, losers killed early.

From the video to the checkout

  • Shelf-first videos point to the store finder: OLIPOP says it is in over 67,000 stores nationwide.
  • Checkout-first videos point to the first-order offer: 15% off your first order.
  • Pack videos link the Classic Soda Variety Pack at $35.99 or the Favorites Variety Pack at $35.99.
  • Free shipping is mentioned only as written: individual orders of $50 or more in the contiguous U.S.
  • Restock videos use the subscriber line: 15% off every order.

Part 15 of 15

Category rules

Prebiotic soda is food, so the words are narrow

OLIPOP is a drink, not a treatment. Creators describe flavor, fiber and sugar as the claims sheet writes them, and nothing beyond that.

  • Quote the numbers as written

Sugar is 2-5g and fiber is 6 to 9g per 12 fl oz can. Say them the way the claims sheet does, with the can in frame.

  • No health outcomes

No promises about digestion, weight, energy or any body result. OLIPOP's own wording is read as the brand's words, never as the creator's.

  • Name the right fiber line

The 9g line is refrigerated and the 6g line is shelf-stable. If a creator mentions storage, they get it right.

  • Caffeine lines are exact

Citrus Rush has 60mg of green tea caffeine and Cherry Cola has 50mg. Say it only on those flavors, only as the page says.

  • Comparisons only with the footnote

The sugar comparison against leading non-diet sodas appears with its footnote on screen and never names a brand.

  • Disclose every paid video

Every creator video carries a clear paid-partnership label. A video without it is pulled and earns no bonus.

The brand’s legal team sets the final rules. This is the operating floor I’d start from, not legal advice.
